What Being a Socialpreneur Means to Me

For me, being a socialpreneur means using business to make a meaningful difference. I started Sheabutter Cottage not just to support my family, but to uplift others too. I believe in putting people first—creating opportunities, championing fairness, and working in ways that respect culture and dignity.

Empowering Women Through Shea

In 2018, we established Jilima Co-op in northern Ghana to support 54 hardworking women. By self funding and building this shea processing centre, we have enabled them to produce and sell to more independent beauty brands, helping to raise their income and confidence.

Your purchase of our unrefined shea butter directly supports this co-operative, contributing to fair wages, better working conditions and sustainable futures.

Education and Welfare for Children

We are passionate about improving access to education. Proceeds from our shop have helped cover school fees, uniforms, books and other products for children in rural Ghana, Kenya and Swaziland particularly girls at risk of dropping out due to cultural differences.

Inclusion for Children with Special Needs

Inspired by our daughter Queenie, who is non-verbal, we support children with special needs in various countries as we see ability in everyone. Our goal is to help raise awareness, reduce stigma and provide vital resources to families in need.
