How to Use
Warm a small amount between your palms until it softens and becomes workable. Apply directly to clean skin or hair as needed.
For skin: Smooth over the face, body, lips or heels after washing. Use morning and evening for best results.
For hair: Work through damp or dry hair from mid-lengths to ends as a sealant or pre-wash treatment. It can also be used to condition the scalp.
For DIY formulation: Melt gently using a bain-marie and incorporate into balms, creams, lotions and hair butters.
Note: Pure unrefined shea butter naturally firms in cold temperatures. Warming between your palms before use restores its workable consistency.
FAQs
Is this suitable for sensitive or eczema-prone skin? Yes. Unrefined shea butter is free from synthetic additives and is widely used to soothe dry, sensitive and eczema-prone skin. We recommend a patch test before full use.
What is the difference between refined and unrefined shea butter? Unrefined shea butter retains its natural colour, scent and full nutrient content because it has not been bleached, deodorised or chemically processed. Refined shea butter is white and odourless but has a reduced nutrient profile. For skincare and haircare, unrefined is generally preferred.
Can I use this in DIY skincare recipes? Absolutely. The 1kg pack is popular with home formulators and small-batch makers. The 10kg pack is suited to professional formulators and toiletry producers. Bulk enquiries are welcome.
