About This Butter

Jilima Premium Unrefined Shea Butter is hand-churned and naturally filtered, sourced directly from the Jilima Co-operative in northern Ghana. It is not melted, bleached or deodorised before packaging, preserving its authentic ivory colour, naturally nutty scent and full nutrient content.

Shea butter has been a family skincare staple across West Africa for generations - used to protect skin from harsh sun and dry winds, to condition hair and to support wound healing. It remains a cornerstone ingredient in both traditional and modern natural beauty formulation.

Origin and Sourcing

Jilima is a Sheabutter Cottage co-operative based in northern Ghana.  We work directly with women-led producer groups and small-scale community producers, supporting fair pricing, ethical working conditions and sustainable harvesting practices. 
Proceeds from every purchase contribute to the Jilima Co-operative's income diversification programme, helping to strengthen livelihoods and support long-term community development.
